Our Story
Food is an amazing thing yet too frequently it is resigned to a supporting role in our lives. We place an incredible focus on taste and in our search for great-tasting, satiating food, we’ve compromised on it’s primary responsibility – to fuel this amazing gift, our bodies. Some have argued the damage we’ve done, as a society, to our food has reduced its overall quality and led to the onset of allergic reactions including to foundational foods that most of us take for granted. Stevie G’s story starts here.
Stevie G’s was born out of a mother’s love. Upon learning of her daughter’s Celiac diagnosis at the age of 10, Stephanie White thoughts ranged from how do I ensure that my daughter’s nutritional needs are met and then, how do I ensure that her emotional needs are met. Food has this incredible ability to bring us together. What would her daughter do while she was at her friends’ birthday parties? What about at lunch at school? Sleepovers? Would she be ostracized for bringing her own food? How would she “break bread” in a “gluten indulgent” world? Most of the gluten-free food at that time tasted awful. The only answer was to create it herself… her daughter needed this. She needed Stevie G’s. There were other 10 year old boys and girls who needed Stevie G’s.
We’re now super proud of how far we’ve come since 2012 and how we’ve had some of our retailers beg us NOT to share that we’re Gluten Free at demos. People respect the fact that Stevie’s is handmade in small batches in the heart of the Shenandoah. They know we use only the highest quality, freshest ingredients and will never use any artificial ingredients or preservatives. All of this manifests in the taste, but what really sets us apart is we’re still driven by our founding drive – a Mother’s love.
Stevie G’s is proudly made in a dedicated Gluten-Free kitchen.
